Today I decided to cancel Terminix for several reasons:
1) It cost approximately 400 dollars a year just to have them come over your house and spray 3 times a year.
2) Cost are rising and the justification for them to increase cost is becoming unreasonable.
3) There are alternatives such as DIY (Do It Yourself). There are excellent applications you can find at hardware stores such as Home Depot, Lowes, etc. Those applications usually cost no more than 20 dollars for a 6 month pest protection.
My opinion, it is an excellent way to save money and have the benefit of making sure you do it. It is hard enough to tell if a bug man came over to your house and says they did spray, what if they did not do it and you end up paying for a service what was not done in the first place?
Cost Analysis:
Terminix – $400 dollars a year (3 time spray application)
Ortho Home Defense – $36.00 (2 time spray application)
Total cost savings = $364.00
